  i try to keep my hands clean regularly and stay away from areas and people that i know are sick.. i have never gotten a flu shot and i do know that many that do get one, get the flu anyway.. still, the flu is considered very very bad this year..

  The flu shots are not 100% effective. Modern medicine is not 100% effective. It is not guaranteed that if you get a flu shot you won't get the flu. We are told, even by the media that one must be their own health advocate. There are some wonderful doctors, yet there are also some quacks out there.

  Did you even bother reading the thread or my posts? I myself stated that it is possible to get the flu despite having the flu shot. What I have said repeatedly is that the flu shot cannot give you the flu. There's a huge difference between the two things. Yeah you should be your own health advocate but that's dangerous if it is done out of ignorance (ie a ton of people in this thread).

  I'd rather be arrogant than stupid any day of the week.

  Several people in this thread have already provided evidence to prove those claims false. Sorry if you're not able to read and understand the whole thread. I am annoyed. Annoyed at how dense a lot of people choose to be. I'm not a doctor but it's not incredibly hard to do research on this stuff. I think a lot of people would actually prefer to live back in the dark ages when there was no such thing as science and medicine.

  BTW anecdotal evidence is pretty worthless.

  Because I enjoy banging my head against a wall, here's a few examples off the top of my head:

  -The flu shot gives you the flu

  -Vitamin C cures/prevents the flu

  -Spicy foods prevent the flu

  -The government may be putting population control drugs in the flu shot, or may in the future.

  it has nothing to do with bullying or being right. People in this thread are saying things that are 100% incorrect and refuse to listen to logic and fact. If people are going to say dumb things I'm sure as hell going to call them out on it.

  Sojae: If you bothered reading this thread, you'd see that the flu shot does not contain any live virii therefore, and I'm going to say this again, YOU CANNOT GET THE FLU FROM THE FLU SHOT.

  jgnat, you should stop trying to use logic, reason, and facts. It doesn't matter to people who are anti-flushot.

  Gee it's like trying to reason with Jehovah's Witnesses. Oh the irony.

  Bungi Bill, LouBelle: Correlation DOES NOT equal causation. Getting the flu shot will not make you sick for 4 years. Eating spicy food does not prevent the flu.

  There's a lot of people in this thread who need to take some basic science and biology courses.

  Wow aguest. Thanks for the long post. Unfortunately it's completely irrelevant as it's about a completely different type of illness and drug. Also it's nothing but anecdotal stuff. For all we know you're making all that stuff up.

  love2bworldly: Did you even bother reading and understanding the posts containing hard data about flu shots? I'm guessing you didn't. Don't be dumb. All of the precautions you listed WILL NOT prevent you from getting the flu.

  WTWizard, you are literally insane if you believe that you can get Alzheimers from the flu shot or that 'population control' drugs are in it. Your vitamins do literally nothing to prevent you from getting the flu.
